Full agency website in YouTube - very cool
I love this idea - a complete agency website built entirely within YouTube - work, bios, contact etc. It’s all there. Surprisingly easy to use and definitely a first.
Blast from the BBC

BBC has launched an amazing digital and real-life experiential event called Blast which was conceived and built by Fallon London.
The project was developed in 2002 to encourage 13 to 19 year olds to develop their skills in art, dance, film, music, writing and games. Since then, it’s had many guises, with the latest being a truly amazing virtual-control meets real-life interaction experiment.
Visitors to the site can write stories that print out within the Blast Studio, paint the walls, add to a constantly evolving sculpture and control a huge light installation.
Fallon has said that the studio experiment will contribute to TV commercials and invited artists will also be encouraged to participate with the wider internet audience.
Check out the video below to see it being setup or visit their Flickr photostream for some great visuals.
Fantastic animation sponsored by Nike
Awesome animated sequence which features a lovely soundtrack by Caribou. What’s nice is the small acknowledged to Nike sponsorship at the beginning and end, but nothing more - subtlety for a change.
Gallipoli: The First Day
Gallipoli, The First Day is a beautifully executed portrayal of the ANZAC’s ill-fated Gallipoli campaign, told through 3D animation, video and audio.
For me, this is a great extension to traditional storytelling (fact or fiction) as the audience becomes so heavily involved. If you’ve ever read Les Carlyon’s ‘Gallipoli’ (and you should), you can appreciate how this interactive piece condenses so much information into rich, palatable chunks. I can see projects like this becoming fantastic teaching-aids in schools and universities.
Another amazing project from your ABC!
Virgin - right music wrongs
So, the campaign is over, Vanilla Ice is innocent and Virgin wins another round of applause for clever ideas.
Drog5 Sydney, created the Virgin Mobile ‘Right Music Wrongs‘ campaign which was originally launched on YouTube. A video of Vanilla Ice apologising for his singing, baggy pants and bad hair appeared, with a followup site encouraging users to vote for not just him, but the likes of Milli Vanilli, Right Said Fred and David Hasselhoff.
Here’s the video:
I really liked this idea - Vanilla Ice plays his part beautifully (make sure you watch the video’s), the execution was great and the seeding seemed to work - it appeared everywhere for a while.
I do think they probably could have pushed the user interaction a little further, as simply voting for something like this is perhaps a little pedestrian.
New Mini viral video - or is it?
This is an interesting approach to the notion of creating a ‘viral’ video. I loved it - well executed, funny and a little tongue-in-cheek - perfect for the Mini Clubman.
Flickr video visualisation
I love this simple clock visualisation on Flickr created by Stamen, a design and technology studio in San Francisco. It’s not the first Flickr visualisation they’ve created, but certainly their best.
It’s essentially a video browser set against a timeline allowing access to recent uploads from the flickrclock group. The interface allows users to scroll back and forth in time giving a broader perspective of Flickr activity.
A light-injected love story - L.I.F.T.
Beautifully executed campaign for Pumas new ultra lightweight footwear - 173 gram Puma L.I.F.T shoes. Great visuals telling an interesting story.
NRMA gives motorists a voice
NRMA have recently launched RoadTube, a website dedicated to letting politicians and others know what irritates you about our roads and ways in which to fix them.
Users can submit comments, upload a video of their own or record videos in one of the specially designed booths touring Australia. These can then be linked through other social networks to spread the word.
NRMA president Wendy Machin said the organisation would use the groundswell of community action to lobby the State and Federal Government as part of its new Get NSW Moving Again campaign.
Fantastic viral piece for Vodafone
I loved this video involving a couple of office clowns, Lewis Hamilton and a Blackberry Storm.
